Alika AG

I’m a principal software engineer and technical lead. Since 2004, Alika AG has been my hands-on product development practice: I join teams with more work than they can finish, and build alongside them — from week one, not month three. I focus on the product, not just the software. And I measure my work by what’s left when I leave: software your team can change, and a team that can change it.

I’ve been writing software since 1980: futures trading, malware analysis, public transit, network provisioning and elevator pricing, each entered cold. Brought in to build at Vantage, I arrived as an engineer and ended up across the table from the CIO and CFO. At Swisscom, hired as Scrum Master, I ended up in the code.

Alongside client work I teach advanced software engineering at Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH), hands-on and in the code. I’m Swiss and Canadian, work in English, and live in Ligerz on Lake Biel.
